Description | Students who complete The Associate Certificate in Web Technologies program position themselves to take jobs in one of the fastest growing industries in the technology sector. Currently, the authoring of Web pages is being done largely by people trained in computer technology, but without concomitant training or experience in graphic design. A graphic designer, currently a student in MDIA 1205, recently pointed out, he is taking this course, the first in the series, to allow him to author his own Web pages instead of passing the responsibility over to a technologist who does not understand design. This program focuses both on design and technology, thereby helping the designer to create an "aesthetic experience" for the Web user.
It is hoped that this program (and others like it) would begin to substantially change the look of the Web as the graduates help to author the 300,000 new websites being created each year. | | |
