Description | The Faculty of Dentistry offers six General Practice Residencies (GPRs) annually. The appointments are tenable at one of three UBC teaching hospitals, i.e., BC Cancer Agency, BC Children’s Hospital, and Vancouver General Hospital. The GPR program provides advanced postgraduate training in several dental specialties. It includes clinic and operating room dentistry, weekly continuing-education seminars and community education rotations to Haida Gwaii and Vietnam. While on rotation, residents gain insights into orofacial oncology, maxillofacial prosthodontics, oral medicine/pathology in healthy and immunocompromised patients, oral and maxillofacial surgery, TMJ dysfunction, geriatric dental care, exodontia, endodontics, orthodontics and general dentistry under IV sedation and general anesthesia. Each resident also has the opportunity to rotate through non-dental disciplines such as anesthesia and ENT. | | |
