DescriptionA construction electrician plans, assembles, installs, repairs, tests and maintains electrical fixtures and systems that provide heat, light, power or control in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Trades Apprenticeship training takes place at the Len Evans Centre for Trades and Technology at Assiniboine's North Hill Campus. Completed in 2010, this 130,000 square foot facility features innovative shops, laboratories and classrooms.

If you like precision work and are interested in electricity and electrical systems, consider becoming a construction electrician. You will be expected to adhere to industry standards for installation, repairs and safety. You should have a good background in mathematics and science and be able to understand and apply a wide range of technical knowledge.
