Description | If you like variety in your work, are able to pay close attention to detail and are interested in working in a highly specialized trade, consider becoming a plumber. You should be mechanically inclined and be willing to continually update your skills since new technologies are always being introduced into the trade. In addition to having good manual dexterity, the ability to translate blueprints and sketches into finished installations is critical.
The work is most rewarding to people who enjoy using their specialized skills in a variety of job site conditions and working with little supervision. In a repair and service shop a plumber should also have good communication skills in order to understand a customer's problems and explain corrective measures. | | |
