DescriptionHow are new technologies changing the ways we interact with each other? How is side-hustle culture affecting families, communities and self-identities? Why do social problems like poverty, climate change, racism, gender inequality, homophobia, transphobia, ableism and ageism persist in the modern world? Sociology explores how families, economic inequalities, sexuality, gender, race, disability, the law and the state shape individuals, and how individuals shape these social institutions and structures. Learn about the social, material and economic bases of challenging inequalities, systems of oppression and exclusionary practices. Explore topics you care about through hands-on research and Co-op. Our one-of-a-kind stream in Social Justice will give you first-hand experience learning from community leaders and partnering with community-based organizations to do research and work on campaigns, public events and documentary films.
