Prerequisites NotesTo be eligible to participate in the Canadian Resident Matching Service you must be either a medical student or graduate having obtained or obtaining a medical degree by July 1 from a Liaison Committee on Medical Education / Committee on Accreditation on Canadian Medical Schools (LCME/CACMS) accredited school, a school of osteopathic medicine or an international medical school. Specific requirements include an academic record which demonstrates special proficiency, a proven interest in those subjects related to anatomic pathology, a proven interest in anatomic pathology, and an interest and proven experience in research, both clinical and basic science.

DescriptionThe Anatomical Pathology Residency program is five years in duration (four years of anatomical pathology and one basic clinical year). The basic clinical year is designed to provide exposure to most of the medical and surgical services that rely heavily on the pathology laboratory and to prepare the resident for the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination Part II.
