Prerequisites Notes | To be eligible to participate in the Canadian Resident Matching Service you must be either a medical student or graduate having obtained or obtaining a medical degree by July 1 from a Liaison Committee on Medical Education / Committee on Accreditation on Canadian Medical Schools (LCME/CACMS) accredited school, a school of osteopathic medicine or an international medical school.
Candidates must have successfully completed at least three-years in an entry specialty (internal medicine, anesthesia, general surgery, thoracic surgery, or emergency medicine).
The program is interested in candidates with an acceptable academic record, a special interest in diagnostic radiology, good communication skills and maturity and proven interest and experience in research. Potential applicants are advised to take elective time in this specialty for a better understanding of the scope of diagnostic radiology. | | |

Description | The majority of the resident's training will take place at the Foothills Medical Centre with the PGY-1 training occurring at the Rockyview Hospital and the pediatric radiology rotations occurring at the Alberta Children's Hospital. Elective training in both rural and urban centres in Alberta, other provinces, and the United States may be allowed. All residents are encouraged to attend the six week Pathology/Radiology course at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) in Washington,DC. | | |
