Prerequisites Notes | Applicants must have a Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES) or equivalent, including Secondary V Language of Instruction, Secondary V Second Language, Secondary IV Science, Secondary IV Mathematics, and Secondary IV History. Students with a DES missing any of the above subjects may be admitted, space permitting, but may be required to complete remedial courses. | | |
Cost | All returning students are required to pay their regular student fees ($164) in full by June 7, 2017 before registering for their courses. New students are required to pay the $164 in full by June 30, 2017 before they register. Payments may be made in full before registration by cash, debit card, Visa, MasterCard, money order or cheque. Post dated cheques will not be accepted. Any remaining fees (non-resident of Quebec, convocation fees, part time in-program fees, etc…) will be assessed by August 22 and due by September 8, 2017. Late payment fees of $25.00 will be applied to overdue accounts.

Description | The Visual Arts Program will provide you with the hands-on training and studio experience to develop as an artist. Your teachers have expertise in a variety of visual art forms and will help harness your creativity and hone your artistic skills. In addition to the practical training, you will learn about the cultural and historical aspects of art. You will graduate with strong visual expression skills, an appreciation of creative processes and a comprehensive portfolio of artwork.
Dawson College is fortunate to be located in a flourishing cultural environment, close to museums, galleries and artist-run centres. This provides a dynamic context for the Visual Arts Program, where our professors instruct, mentor and support students in their artistic development. | | |
