The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers a full range of graduate programs leading to the degrees of Master of Science (MSc), Master of Actuarial Science (MActSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The department is known for its small class sizes, supportive atmosphere and accessibility of faculty. At the same time, the faculty are engaged in vigorous research programs. The department sponsors numerous colloquia, and supports several visiting scholars.
Graduate courses at the University of Windsor are offered in a large range of topics such as algebra, real complex and numerical analysis, linear and nonlinear functional analysis, and mathematical finance. The research done in a broad spectrum of areas at the University of Windsor is both theoretical and methodological for substantive areas of application. The objective of such a program is to prepare students for multiple career paths once they have graduated, as well as to prepare students for the PhD level.
