Description | This program provides a comprehensive overview of computer information systems used in business. It is also the second step in laddering toward the Computer Systems Certificate of Technology. The ACIS and Applied Software Development (ASD) Associate Certificates could be completed simultaneously in about two years of part-time study, one or two nights per week. The core of the program is comprised of hands-on courses, with a particular focus on computer and office application use, systems analysis and design, data modeling, and communication. You can become a personal computer power user as you learn to identify, analyze, and explain Information Technology solutions in relation to costs, benefits, and risks.
Depending on your interests, choose from electives in accounting, business communications, Object Oriented programming, web development and design, or expert level applications in spreadsheet or database use. Some of these courses are available online. Upon successful completion of the program you will have acquired the analytical skills and understanding of computer systems, networks, and business software applications necessary to pursue higher level courses or specialization. | | |
