Prerequisites Notes | To apply to the undergraduate MD program, a four-year degree in any discipline from an accredited university is required. Although candidates with three-year degrees are occasionally admitted, a four-year degree is strongly preferred. The Admissions Committee recognizes that the appropriate preparation for the study of medicine can be acquired through many varied educational backgrounds. There are no specific course requirements to apply to the MD program. You must meet the minimum GPA requirement in each year being assessed to be considered for admission. Residents of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick & Prince Edward Island are required to have a minimum of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale in each year assessed. Residents of all other Canadian provinces and territories are required to have a minimum of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale in each year assessed.
