Prerequisites Notes | The admissions committee expects an academic standing in English of at least 3.3 on a 4-point scale, the equivalent of a B+. We consider the total credits completed and the GPA in English courses, as well as coverage ranging from Old English through contemporary literature and theory, as well as indigenous and post-colonial literatures.
While we look for an Honours BA in English, or its equivalent in number and range of courses, we do not require that degree, especially for students doing interdisciplinary research. The graduate chair is happy to discuss the suitability of applicants' qualifications. If you fall short in total courses or in coverage, you may be interested in registering as a Special Student in Arts to make up undergraduate courses before applying for admission. | | |
