Prerequisites Notes | Students must have 60% in English 30-1. Documentary evidence (e.g., a letter/letters from the agency/agencies involved) of having completed at least 100 voluntary and/or paid work hours in the human services field. Students must also have the physical and mental abilities to participate in practice placements.
A criminal record check and Child Intervention Record Check (formerly Child Welfare or CWIS Check) are required. Both must meet the criteria of the practicum sponsors.

Description | NorQuest College offers an approved, two-year Social Work Diploma program with a multicultural focus. As its mission, the program emphasizes the value of human diversity and teaches practice within an anti-oppressive framework that is supportive and empowering. Graduates are employed in government and non-governmental settings in areas such as child and youth protection, addictions counseling, family support, and other related helping disciplines.
Students in the Social Work program can expect to develop knowledge and skills in the following areas: social work foundations, the helping process, social policy, assessment and interviewing, social work models and practice, working with groups, working with families and communities, mental health, and abuse, violence, and addictions.
