Description | Commerce is a two-year pre-university program offering students their first formal exposure to business studies. This is our regular Commerce program. Students in this option learn basic business concepts, develop an extensive business vocabulary, and analyse and evaluate business decision-making in many areas of business activity. In this program, students will acquire a fundamental understanding of key business functions and the complex environment in which they operate. In this option, many different methods of student evaluation are used, including (but not limited to) tests, projects, exams, research papers, and case studies. These methods vary and will depend on the particular course and teacher.
There are four different options for Commerce at Vanier. Aside from the regular commerce program, which has already been described, there is also the option to major in International Business or Entrepreneurship, with International Business being more research-oriented and Entrepreneurship being more hands-on. In addition to this, there is an honours option, which has a program page of its own. | | |
