Description | This program combines our long-standing commitment to the exploration of British, American, Canadian and Postcolonial literatures of all periods in the English language, with the study of their cultures and an emphasis upon theoretical concerns and transnational connections. Students can choose from two program options: 1) coursework only, or 2) coursework and a thesis. Our aim is to advance inquiry into traditional historical fields of study as well as contemporary and popular culture; open students up to current issues in literary and cultural research; and encourage students’ independent interests. With student-oriented professional training in research and teaching, the program fosters a unique and valuable set of critical, analytical, and communications skills in our graduates.
