Description | This popular class helps students improve in the important skill areas of listening and pronunciation. Through recordings of daily news and assignments based on the recordings, students can improve their vocabulary and use of natural English, as well as their pronunciation.
A comprehensive overview of the English sound system, combined with specific listening activities, will aid in the development of clear speech and discrete listening skills, thus improving overall communication skills. A number of controlled and authentic listening activities, primarily the daily news (News 1130) and the study of its vocabulary and idioms, will comprise the bulk of intensive listening activities. The pronunciation component of the course will follow an eight-week rotating cycle that will aid students in the development of clear speech. | | |
