Description | Your studies will encompass a broad background in analog & digital electronics, software development, modern communications and control systems. You'll benefit from a thorough investigation of such areas as electronic circuitry, diagnostic techniques, microcontrollers, process control and computer systems/ networks. During the final year of the program, you'll focus on applying the principles you've learned to the design and testing of electronics projects. In addition, you'll study advanced topics in areas such as digital communications, control systems or programming to specialize in an area of interest to you. The hallmark of this program is its blend of theory and practice. The theory not only gives depth to your understanding, it also prepares you for future advancement, both professional and academic. The practice done in our impressively equipped labs, gives you hands-on skills that employers in the electronics industry need.
Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional co-op work term(s) in a formal work environment. In most cases the work term(s) is a full-time paid position completed between two academic semesters. In programs with limited co-op opportunities, additional academic requirements and a passing grade on a communication assessment may be required for eligibility. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional co-op stream regardless of success in securing a work position.
