Description | Women’s and Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary program exploring the nature, status, image, experience, oppression and achievements of women. The Women’s and Gender Studies Department fosters awareness of, and appreciation for, the realities and diverse experiences of women. It also develops a critical consciousness of the social inequalities affecting women, including those based on gender, age, race, class, disability, and sexual orientation. Our program seeks to explore not only women, but genders and all sexualities in their natures, forms, histories, images, and experiences.
Graduates may find employment in the fields of law, government and public administration, social services, education, media, science, psychology, criminal justice, politics, advocacy, social work, academia, health services, human services, and other areas. | | |
