Description | The Faculty of Science is pleased to offer a pre-veterinary stream in collaboration with the Atlantic Veterinary College, one of Canada's five veterinary schools. Located on the UPEI campus, the collaboration takes advantage of the best programs, facilities, and teaching that UPEI has to offer. The pre-veterinary stream offers students an opportunity to meet the course requirements for admission to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program, a four-year program that has graduated over 1,000 veterinarians since it opened in 1986.
The pre-vet stream is an advising structure that helps guide future applicants to the DVM program and supports progress toward a Bachelor of Science degree with a major from one of the disciplines available in UPEI’s Faculty of Science. In addition, a variety of activities such as information sessions and presentations by professors who teach at the Atlantic Veterinary College are also organized for pre-veterinary stream students.
