Description | Geography is the study of the environments created on the earth's surface by nature and people. The physical and biological elements of these environments, as well as their economic and social structure, historical development, spatial organization, interrelationships, management and planning, form the subject matter of geography. Geography offers programs leading to Hon. BA or BSc degrees.
A focus on the human-environment nexus is most explicit in the program. Students learn about the social, spatial, and biophysical processes that shape society’s relationship to nature, management of resources, and contemporary environmental change. The program appeal to non-science students who seek an environmental program that allows them to learn more about the natural processes that interact with social factors in shaping environments. | | |
