Description | Mediaeval Studies encompasses all aspects of European culture from the fall of Rome to the fall of Constantinople, approximately 450 to 1450 AD. Through courses in history, literature and art, the program offers the opportunity to study subjects which are not only of value in themselves, but also sources of many things familiar to us, in a context sufficiently unfamiliar to expand our mental horizons and suggest new perspectives.
Mediaeval Studies is excellent preparation for a career in any area in which knowledge of our cultural origins is valuable. In addition, the requirements for the major and specialist degrees prepare students for graduate study in mediaeval studies. | | |
