Description | Bioengineering uses analytical methods to quantitatively describe biology, but also draws upon the sophistication of living systems as a tool to design and create. Bioengineering is unique in that it couples fundamental engineering principles with biology. Not only is McGill’s Bioengineering undergraduate program one of the very few undergraduate degrees of its kind offered in Canada, it is the only program that places emphasis on providing solid foundations in both engineering and biology principles. This very rapidly growing research area covers a broad range of topics, such as materials science, biomedical applications, biophysics, molecular biology, and environmental engineering. Students greatly benefit from the opportunity of studying in a highly multidisciplinary environment, as well as from being exposed to different concepts. | | |
