Video game programmers generally work in cities. Sometimes they will work from their homes but most time they work in an office environment. Many new media companies use open air concepts for their offices.
Video game programmers will often work longer hours than 9-5 Monday to Friday. Approaching deadline and release dates for the video games they are producing will increase the hours which they work.
