Description:Lambton College's experienced faculty deliver an exemplary Practical Nursing program with care and enthusiasm. Professionalism, evidence-informed practice and interprofessional collaboration are foundational concepts throughout the program. Students within this program develop nursing skills, knowledge, and judgement through experiential learning opportunities working in both simulated and real-world health care settings. Lambton College's facilities include a state-of-the art Nursing Simulation Lab in the NOVA Chemicals Health & Research Centre, which allows students to perform skills in a variety of nursing environments. Hospital and community placements help students to solidify their critical thinking, therapeutic nurse client relationships, and professional nursing practice.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
  •   Chemistry 
  •  Grade12 Mathematics 
  •   Biology 
Applicants are required to have O.S.S.D. or equivalent with a minimum grade of 60% in the following: Grade 12 English C or U; Grade 12 Mathematics C or U; Grade 11 or 12 Biology C or U; and Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry C or U.



Mature applicants must be at least 19 years of age by the start of classes, be out of secondary school for at least one year and usually do not have a high school diploma. Mature applicant assessment for this program is available in the Counselling Department in the subject of English. The assessment(s) will determine proficiency in required admission subjects. For all other admission requirements applicants must complete the required course(s) as listed above. For more information please contact the Counselling Department at ext. 3412. Academic admission requirements can be obtained through Academic Upgrading and Pre-Programs at Lambton College.

  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 5.5]
Application Notes : International applicants are required to have IELTS of 5.5; or passed Lambton Institute of English placement test; or successfully completed two years of secondary and/or post-secondary education in Canada or any English speaking country.
