Applicants must have a university degree in Humanities or Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Education) or equivalent or college diploma related to Human Services (70% guideline) including courses in Family Dynamics, Communications and General Electives. Applicants who have completed post-secondary education in outside fields will be considered if they have the following courses: Communications/English, Family Dynamics and General Elective. Proof of English proficiency for applicants where English is not their first language must be submitted to Ontario Colleges.

Students whose first language is not English are expected to prove their proficiency with one of the following: successful completion of GAS-EAP (478) Program Level 8 with 70%; TOEFL minimum score of 550 (80 Internet based); IELTS minimum score of 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5; or an Ontario Secondary School Diploma & English Credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) issued from a public school board.
