Description: | Selkirk College offers several undergraduate courses in Geography that transfer as credits towards a degree in Geography at other institutions.
Students who are curious about the world around them and who enjoy being outdoors are natural geographers. Geography students study the spatial relationships between natural and built environments and culture. Studying geography is a hands-on experience, and the learning is applicable to everyday life whether is observing how landscapes are changing or seeking to understanding cultural differences. Geography is a "must take" for students looking to integrate their life experiences into their educational pursuits.

Prerequisites:* | These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Admission to the program requires the completion of English 12 with a grade of "C" or better or written permission of the Instructor and School Chair. Other prerequisites depend on the electives chosen to complete the program and should be determined with the advice of a Selkirk College counsellor. If you are a student who lacks the admission requirements, you may still gain entry to the program by taking a combination of upgrading and university courses in your first year. This may extend the length of your program.

Application Notes : | If your first language is not English, you must meet the following English Language Proficiency requirements for entry in to Selkirk College University Transfer, Diploma or Degree programs: completion of BC English 12, or equivalent; or completion, with a grade of "C+" or better, advanced core courses in the Selkirk College English Language Program and Provincial Level English 51; or submission of a TOEFL score of 213 (computer) or ibt 79-80 or better; or submission of an IELTS score of 6.0 or better; or submission of an EIKEN Grade Pre -1; or submission of an acceptable score on the Language Proficiency Index score of 4 or better. For Indian students coming through the SPP program, the IELTS requirement for diploma programs is 6.0 with no band less than 5.5. |
