Description:The Bachelor of Arts with a major or minor in Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) is an interdisciplinary and applied program that focuses on conflict transformation with a special focus on local indigenous and community content.

In addition to analyzing conflict and peace strategies in the classroom, you learn practical skills and get hands-on experience in conflict transformation and reconciliatory work that promotes equality, justice, and equitable access to and ownership of resources.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
Applicants are required to have: B.C. secondary school graduation or equivalent, and a minimum of a C+ in English 12 or equivalent (see Note) and a minimum of a B average in two additional Approved Grade 12 courses. Note: English 12 equivalent courses include English 12 First Peoples, English Literature 12, AP English, and IB English A (standard level or higher level).

  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 88] or CanTEST [min. 4.5] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 85]

Students can declare a major in Peace and Conflict Studies after completion of at least 30 university-level credits (including PACS 100 and PACS 200) with a minimum of 2.33 CGPA on all credits attempted.
