Description:This 10-month intensive program is intended for graduates of university degree programs in the Humanities or Social Sciences or diploma programs in a related human services field. [Mental Health and Addictions, Child and Youth Worker, Developmental Services Worker, Nursing, Gerontology, Early Childhood Education, Recreation, Community and Justice Services or others to be determined by the Program Co-ordinator.]

Applicants must have completed 40 hours of direct experience with clients in a social agency.

Following the eight month in-class portion, students will have a two-month field placement opportunity in a community agency.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    University Degree or an Ontario College Diploma or advanced diploma in one of the following human services programs: Mental Health and Addictions, Child and Youth Worker, Developmental Services Worker, Nursing, Gerontology, Early Childhood Education, Recreation, Community and Justice Services or others to be determined by the Program Coordinator.

    Must have a minimum of 40 hours of direct experience with clients in a social service agency. An evaluation form attesting to the satisfactory completion of these hours must be submitted by an agency representative.
    Test Scores:
    • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 5.5] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550] or DuoLingo or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 80] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 60]
