International applicants must have completed high school (or equivalent). They must also:

• have a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 88 with no score below 20, or a minimum IELTS of 6.5 (with no band below 6.0)
• or successfully complete Vancouver Island University's English Language certificate program and course prerequisites.

Applicants who do not meet the above may still be considered for admission and will be required to upgrade.

For graduate level programs, students must:

• have a minimum TOEFL iBT 93 with no section below 20, IELTS 7.0 with no band below 6.5
• or successfully complete Vancouver Island University's English Language Grad Prep program.

International applicants must complete an international application for admission, which is available online. Students must include in their applications a $150 non-refundable application processing fee, and enclose a certified copy of all educational documents in their original language and translated into English.
