The New Zealand College of Chiropractic was established in 1994 by the New Zealand Chiropractors’ Association and has since become a leader in chiropractic education with an international reputation for excellence. In 1999, ownership was transferred to the New Zealand Chiropractic Education Trust Board.
The College offers a state of the art Chiropractic Centre and is home to the Centre for Chiropractic Research. Students are primarily skilled in spinal analysis and chiropractic techniques. Most students are employed immediately after graduation with many students receiving job offers in their final year of study.
Chiropractors are primary health care professionals who work with people of all ages. The purpose of chiropractic is to help people reach and maintain excellent health and wellbeing through the care of the spine and nerve system.
Chiropractors are concerned with the relationship between the spine and the nerve system. Spinal function impacts brain function and therefore influences overall health, well being and performance.
Chiropractors specialise in providing specific adjustments to the spine to correct abnormal function so that the body can express its fullest potential. Chiropractors are also trained to recognise conditions that may require concurrent care or referral to other healthcare providers.
The College does not have students housing, but we can assist you with funding accommodation. Students mainly live in shared housing within walking distance of the College campus.
