A leader in action-based learning, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is built on passion — shared by our students, faculty and staff — to shape new worlds as entrepreneurs, leaders and community builders. Founded in 1916, SAIT is the oldest public institute of technology in Canada. A SAIT education offers practical experience and theoretical knowledge in a real-world context. Our students benefit from hands-on learning in unique labs and classrooms, participation in applied research on campus with industry partners and, in many programs, workplace practicums that enable them to apply their learning. SAIT's lasting reputation and close partnerships with industry, government and other post-secondary institutions offer our students the skills and connections they need to succeed in local, national and global economies.
International students can apply to a variety of our baccalaureate and applied degrees, diploma and certificate programs — programs designed to give you the skills and confidence you need to be successful in your career. Through our state-of-the-art labs, living classrooms, capstone projects and internships, SAIT provides you with a skills-based education and ample exposure to the industries you are training to enter.
SAIT students study within eight academic schools: Business, Construction, Energy, Health and Public Safety, Hospitality and Tourism, Information and Communications Technologies, Manufacturing and Automation and Transportation.
