Profile

Laurentian University

A dynamic and progressive university, Laurentian University offers more than 175 undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral programs. Our flexible degree structure means you can customize your major and minor studies to create a "modular degree" that's unique to your strengths and interests.

Laurentian has one of the best faculty-student ratios you'll find anywhere, and programs you won't find elsewhere, like the only accredited Forensic Science program outside the U.S., and the BComm in Sports Administration. Interested in space exploration? Members of our first graduating class in Mechanical Engineering are the 2011 world champions in the NASA Lunabotics competition.

Laurentian is a sound investment for the future with nearly 95% of our graduates finding employment. Our graduates benefit from a broad base of options for work experience which prepares them for a career in their field.

Laurentian is home to the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, and has launched a brand-new School of Mines. We have the state-of-the-art Vale Living With Lakes international research centre, a remarkable LEEDS-certified building on the shore of Lake Ramsey (the largest of several lakes on our beautiful 700-acre campus). In addition, the Laurentian School of Architecture has begun construction of a brand new complex at the downtown location.

We're a bilingual university, committed to indigenous learning, with a rapidly growing cohort of international students.
