Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) is a leading comprehensive innovation university integrated into Canada’s largest and most diverse city. Offering 100+ undergraduate and graduate degrees, TMU delivers a wide range of programs in the following faculties and schools: Arts, Community Services, Engineering and Architectural Science, Science, Lincoln Alexander School of Law, Ted Rogers School of Management, The Creative School, The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education and the Yeates School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Our new School of Medicine will welcome its first cohort in 2025. TMU has three on-campus residence buildings with approximately 1,144 beds. There are a range of room styles, including two- to four-bedroom apartments, single bedrooms with shared hallway washrooms and some individual rooms with private washrooms. You'll have an opportunity to identify your preferred room style in your residence application.

Off Campus Housing

The off-campus Housing Office helps students to navigate the housing and renting market in Toronto. They have resources and tools to help students with their search from start to finish.

Career Planning

At the TMU Career and Co-op Centre we build careers for life. We are committed to providing our students and recent alumni with innovative career assessment and development skills so they can excel in the workplace now and throughout their careers.

Sports

TMU Athletics and Recreation champions the development of the whole student through sporting excellence and active wellbeing. The Department of Athletics and Recreation administers the Recreation and Athletics Centre (RAC), the Mattamy Athletics Centre (MAC), and varsity athletics.

Clubs

TMU has a vibrant campus community made up of over 200 student clubs and organizations. Most of these groups allow for the opportunity to be involved however you would like, from being a general member who attends events when possible to running for an executive position. There are so many groups to choose from, and if you can't find one that matches your interests, guess what? You can create one!

Information Technology

With a wide array of services available to students and faculty, the TMU Library is one of the most resourceful spots on campus. From audio-visual services and a vast collection of books available for loan to innovative facilities such as digital media experience labs and study spaces, the library is equipped to aid every student in excelling at school.

Cultural

The cultural diversity of our student population is represented and reflected in the variety of cultural student groups and clubs on campus. The International Student Support (ISS) Office provides support for international students as they transition to life in Canada through immigration, cultural and social support.

Special Services

Academic Accommodation Support (AAS) provides academic accommodation and related support to students with disabilities. In partnership with students and faculty, we implement individualized accommodation plans to reduce disability-related barriers and ensure that students have equal access to education.

International Involvement

Through TMU International, students can explore Global Learning at home and abroad, as well as short-term international visiting students coming to Toronto Met (e.g., exchange, visiting researchers, etc).
